Agreed with Northern, England at home Vs Ireland might just go our way however Scotland away bothers me given England massive injury crisis

Re: Six Nations
Am sorely tempted by the 25/1 on offer with Ladbrokes for France who have the two strongest England and Ireland at home, are they really that bad? And italy at home as well.

Be bloody lovely having this to take our minds off of the crap happening at West Ham London at the moment.

Think it's gonna be a belter this year, looks like being very tight.

Re: Six Nations
After all the talk of England's injury crisis, by my reckoning we're missing 2 first choice starters: big Billy V and Elliot Daly.

OK Sinckler, Marler and Hughes would make the bench, but I think it's a good thing that Harry Williams and Alec Hepburn are getting some playing time in the front row now. The former's shown he can cut the mustard and the latter looks a really good player. Saw them both come on for Exeter against Montpellier and absolutely batter the frogs in the scrum. In Montpellier, which is no mean feat.

I still don't think Underhill is the answer at 7. He just doesn't offer anything much with the ball, although maybe that's the limit of Jones' ambition for us. Sadly, I don't think he's going to have a very long career either. He's brave as fuck but his size and tackling style make concussion virtually inevitable, imho. Be interesting to see who Jones does pick in the back row.

One of the things to look out for is some of the young Irish lads. The likes of Jordan Larmour and Jacob Stockdale have the potential to be sensational, and there's more behind them. Schmidt's been fortunate with the timing but he's got the balls to give them a go. Not sure we would.

Despite a huge injury list, England seen to swap players in and out with little disturbance, or am I missing something?

Re: Six Nations
Anyway, I see the frogs are starting vs Ireland with a 19 year old at fly half who's only been playing for his club for 3 months ! I'm all for giving the youth a go but that could go badly wrong for the lad.

cheers, neco. haven't seen a lot of sam simmonds, is he decent? had a look at his wiki page and he looks short of games and a bit small

Re: Six Nations
Not seen much myself but doing well at club level. Bigger tests to come but in Eddie we trust.

Eerie Descent 11:46 Fri Feb 2
Re: Six Nations
Simmonds is more of a quick, dynamic 8, definitely not in the Billy mode in terms of ball carrying and presence but more likely to pop up in unusual positions and will threaten the try line.

Considering the injuries, it's not far off what the starting 15 would be, still can't believe he's starting Hartley over George, I don't care about the 'standard' he sets in camp, George is so far ahead of him as a player.

Takashi Miike 11:53 Fri Feb 2
Re: Six Nations
I agree about George, much the better player now
